Libby Blauvelt
Director

Libby Blauvelt grew up dancing at Nutmeg Performing Arts Center. She was trained in tap, ballet, lyrical, and jazz and received overall and special awards while dancing competitively. Libby has been involved in high school theatre and won a Halo Award for her choreography of Wizard of Oz. She has choreographed numbers for the Miss America organization and assisted with the Miss Mum and Miss Bristol pageants. The numbers she choreographed for Nutmeg’s Supreme Team has won numerous overalls and special awards. She graduated from UConn with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus in Child Development. Libby’s Master’s Degree focuses on special education, and she will utilize this degree in her newly appointed role of special education teacher. Her longtime connection to Nutmeg Performing Arts Center has traveled full circle, and she is so excited to be the director of this studio that she has called her second home for over 20 years.
