Studio News:

We are taking every precaution to make sure your dancers safety is our priority

Our studio always holds the highest standard in keeping the studio clean/disinfected daily, way before any of these processes were to be inforced.  We shutdown the front studio way prior to the government stepping in.  We will continue to be above the normal standards on our days we don't need the government's minimum standard to tell us how to keep your dancers safe.

Thank you again to ProSource Pest Solutions- of Southington, CT ProSource Decontamination for taking care of our studios yesterday. Here is a more detailed look at what they did. We highly recommend them to anyone needing to decontaminate their home or business. Nutmeg Families, please take a moment to thank them by liking their business page or sharing this video. Thank You!

What we are doing to take Precautions

Studio: Each Studio/Bathroom are disinfected between each use.

Squares on the floor ensure social distancing while learning.

Staff: Each staff has their temperatures taken prior to class.

Dancers: Are Social Distancing while in the studio, along with their hands are sanitized prior to entering the class.

Every Class is Hybrid

In Studio or at Home Online

You can do both

As a valued member of our dance family, we wanted to reach out regarding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact on our community and families and how we plan to reopen the studio.
We would like to reassure you that we are adhering to the CDC Guidelines as the health and wellbeing of our students, their families, and our staff are our top priority. We will continue to monitor and implement the local, state, and federal recommendations as they’re announced.

We take pride in our facility and how it operates and would like to highlight the policies we have in place at the studio to help our dance families stay healthy

Prevention Steps in the Studio:

• We will have a modified class schedule to accommodate for cleanings in between classes and limit the number of people in the class.
• All students must enter through the front door and out the back of the studio.  Your dancer will exit to the right of the studio.
• Every class will be "touchless entry;" a teacher will open the front doors when students are welcomed into the building; this will signal that all students from the previous class exited the building and we are ready for the next wave of classes to begin, they will be given a hand wipe when entering the building.
• While students are waiting for classes to start, please wait in cars until called in, parents must remain in cars, dancers with classes back to back will wait in the studio between classes in their social distancing square.
• Street shoes will be left outside of the door
• Dancers need to arrive in proper dance attire and avoid wearing any extra layers of clothing,
bring dance bags with necessary dance shoes only
• The locker room, lobby, and other studios will be closed for use
• Bathroom breaks only in emergency situations, one at a time, sanitized in between classes
• Please bring a bottle of water. No food allowed.
• Sanitizer: We have sanitizer in each studio, the bathrooms as well as at the front desk and we
encourage you to utilize it frequently. All students will be required to sanitize hands upon
entering the building.
• Handwashing: We encourage frequent handwashing (for at least 20 seconds before rinsing).
• Discouraging close contact: We have adjusted certain aspects of our classes to ensure dancers
are not in too close of proximity. We will not be giving hugs or hi-fives and are asking dancers to skip those as well. The floors will be taped in a grid to create social distance squares for each student to abide by.
• Surface Cleaning: Between every class, we will wipe down frequently touched surfaces and equipment
• Deep Cleaning: We are deep cleaning the studio every other day.
• Staff: Only staff feeling well (without symptoms) will be in the studio.
• The use of masks: IDP Students and Staff are required to wear masks in class as recommended
by the CDC.
• Every family will be required to sign an electronic liability waiver prior to returning to classes in the studio.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

• Don’t bring toys, food, or any unnecessary items from home.
• Don’t send your child to the studio sick or if a family member is sick.
o Children missing a class due to illness will not be counted against them.
• Don’t break any formal quarantine/government restrictions.
• Encourage your child to cough and sneeze into their arm, not in their hand.
• Alert us if your child does have COVID-19 and have been to the studio within the last 14
days so we can contact their peers.
• Please rest and seek medical assistance if symptoms (e.g. fever, chills, coughing, sneezing,
• shortness of breath) occur and/or the self-check suggests the proper diagnosis. More
information can be found here.
• Please follow the CDC precautions if you have come in contact with someone with COVID-
19.
• Please use the restroom and wash your hands thoroughly prior to entry to limit the
amount of traffic into the bathrooms.

In the coming days and weeks, we will continue to monitor the situation and pass along any pertinent information we gather.

We will continue to live stream Zoom classes while in the studio for dancers who are unable to attend in-studio classes. Each family is encouraged to make their own decision about coming to the studio, please do what you feel comfortable with and what makes the most sense for you and your family. The well being of our students and families is a top priority! Please know that we are here to address any concerns or issues, and happy to hear from you on additional ways we can keep our community healthy!

Sincerely,
Chuck and Jessica Leopizzo

IF SOMEONE TESTS POSITIVE
As restrictions continue to be lifted in Connecticut and across our country, we do expect there to be an increase in positive tested COVID-19 cases in and out of the studio. Our goal is to take a balanced and thoughtful approach that serves our students, faculty, and business.

Below outlines how we plan to address confirmed cases to protect you and our community.

Should we experience a confirmed case of COVID-19 and the dancer/employee was in the location within the past 14 days, we will:

• Require the following information:

o Date of first known symptoms (if applicable)

o Date of the test taken

*NutmegPAC will notify any students or staff members who may have been exposed

Notify those dancers/employees from 3 days prior to onset of symptoms or the time of test taken via email within 24 hours

Respect the privacy of the infected individual

Deep clean the entire studio if positive member/employee has been in the gym within the

last 7 days

Require the infected individual to refrain from the studio for 14 days, or until cleared by

their doctor and are symptom-free. They may take Zoom classes.

Note: We will only close the facility if we are unable to conduct business due to staffing gaps, but will continue to teach Zoom classes during normal class times.

A positive COVID-19 reported case in our studio does not warrant an automatic requirement for any team member to be tested. The guidelines and protocols we have in place help protect every individual from being in close contact. “Close contact” as defined by the CDC is being within 6 feet of an infected individual for at least 15 minutes starting from 48 hours before the person began feeling sick to time the patient was isolated. Being aware of the proper use of PPE is everyone’s responsibility and should be taken seriously.

Note: dancers/employees/family members who are exposed to the virus while properly equipped with PPE (e.g. healthcare workers) are not subject to self-isolation, per the guidelines.
